R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Lake County Board, the Acting County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for the Wilson Road at Nippersink Road roadway construction improvement, and designated as Section 03-00070-06-CH.
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication calling for said bid, sealed bids were received and opened on July 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois; a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the Acting County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Berger Excavating Contractors, Wauconda, Illinois, their bid being $6,137,676.24 based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, by prior resolution at its meeting of February 14, 2017, appropriated $9,615,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds and $480,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for the Wilson Road at Nippersink Road roadway construction improvement, and designated as Section 03-00070-06-CH.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that a contract be awarded to said Berger Excavating Contractors, Wauconda, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $6,137,676.24, based on estimated quantities and unit prices, and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the Acting County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder for Wilson Road at Nippersink Road roadway construction improvement, and designated as Section 03-00070-06-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 without further Board action, providing the final cost chargeable to the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
