R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Lake County Board, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for the 2014 traffic signal maintenance for the period from December 1, 2013, to November 30, 2014, and designated as Section 14-00000-01-GM; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on August 20, 2013, at 10:00 AM at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois; a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined the bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Meade Electric Company, McCook, Illinois, their bid being $1,148,807.80 based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, Illinois, by prior resolution at its meeting of July 9, 2013, appropriated $1,270,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the maintenance and electrical service for the County traffic control signals, street lights, other field equipment and field elements of Lake County Passage.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that a contract be awarded to said Meade Electric Company, McCook, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $1,148,807.80 based on estimated quantities and unit prices and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder for the 2014 traffic signal maintenance for the period from December 1, 2013, to November 30, 2014, and designated as Section 14-00000-01-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 without further Board action, providing the final cost chargeable to the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this award be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
