R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Winchester Road, County Highway 69, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Winchester Road at Illinois Route 83, could be improved by the installation of a traffic signal; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional engineering services for the Phase II design engineering services; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm, Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for the Phase II design engineering services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois, be employed to provide design engineering services for the intersection improvement of Winchester Road at Illinois Route 83, and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute a contract and any amendments, on behalf of Lake County for the provision of said design engineering services, at a cost of $313,059.76, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $380,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for this improvement, and designated as Section 16-00170-13-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
