R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Lake County Board, the Acting County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, to provide for the ITS Phase III expansion project, and designated as Section 09-00268-08-TL and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on June 19, 2012, at 10:00 A.M., at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois, a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the Acting County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is H & H Electric Company, Inc., Franklin Park, Illinois, their bid being $1,266,483, based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, by prior resolution at its meeting of May 10, 2011, appropriated $2,265,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds to provide for the ITS Phase III project which includes expansion of the fiber optic network, additional cameras and connections to local police department dispatch centers, and designated as Section 09-00268-08-TL.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that a contract be awarded to said H & H Electric Company, Franklin Park, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $1,266,483 based on estimated quantities and unit prices and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the Acting County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder to provide for the ITS Phase III project, which includes expansion of the fiber optic network, additional cameras and connections to local police department dispatch centers, and designated as Section 09-00268-08-TL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 without further Board action, providing the final cost chargeable to the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
