Resolution recognizing the Honorable Fred L. Foreman, Chief Judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit of Lake County.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Fred L. Foreman, has served Lake County as Chief Judge since 2012; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Fred L. Foreman, has served Lake County as a Circuit Judge since 2004; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Fred L. Foreman, served as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois from 1990-1993; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Fred L. Foreman, has served Lake County as State's Attorney from 1980-1990, Assistant State's Attorney from 1976-1979 and Assistant Public Defender from 1974-1976; and
WHEREAS, during the past 40 years, Chief Judge Foreman has served the Citizens of Lake County as an elected official, appointed official, attorney and volunteer; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Foreman was instrumental in establishing the Executive Justice Council, a forum for the elected officials and other stakeholders in the Justice system to build consensus and avoid conflicts concerning jail overcrowding, case management, technology, and court security; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Foreman worked actively with elected officials and other justice stakeholders to continue implementation of Intensive Case Management along with the planning for the new Court Tower and renovation of the Depke Juvenile Justice Complex; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Foreman's vision and leadership have enhanced both the judiciary and Lake County, through his Professional Associations and Community Involvement over the past 40 years; and
WHEREAS, Chief Judge Foreman in February 2011 was the recipient of Professionalism and Ethics Award from the Lake County Bar Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Lake County Board recognizes Chief Judge Foreman's extensive contributions to the citizens of Lake County through his dedication to public service, and we express our gratitude for his 40 years of service and commitment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we are indeed fortunate and honored to have known and worked with such an outstanding citizen and public servant; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Lake County Board extends its best wishes to Chief Judge Foreman on the occasion of his retirement and wishes him blessings in the years to come.
