R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Sylvan Lake area is using a non-compliant addressing system, one aspect of which is the non-use of the platted street names; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with Lake County’s five digit addressing system, the use of the platted street names is required; and
WHEREAS, the Fremont Township Road District desires Lake County designate that Sylvan Drive West and Sylvan Drive North be changed to Sylvan Drive and Crescent Drive North, Crescent Drive East, and Crescent Drive South be changed to Crescent Drive, so as to be in compliance with the platted street names; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with 55 ILCS 5/5-1067, the County may name or change the name of any road in unincorporated areas.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Sylvan Drive West and Sylvan Drive North will be changed to Sylvan Drive and Crescent Drive North, Crescent Drive East, and Crescent Drive South will be changed to Crescent Drive, as depicted on the map attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to notify the landowners adjacent to said roadway, the Village of Mundelein, the Fremont Township Road District, the Lake County Recorder of Deeds, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the United States Post Office and others, as deemed necessary, of said road name changes.
