R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Hainesville Road (County Highway 24) at Shorewood Drive is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if traffic control signals could be installed at Hainesville Road and Shorewood Drive; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic at Hainesville Road and Shorewood Drive is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the county as a whole; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering) for the above-said improvement to the traffic control signals situated at Hainesville Road and Shorewood Drive; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
WHEREAS, Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering), and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $45,000 of Motor Fund Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 11-00072-12-TL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003
