• The Village of Buffalo Grove (Village) owns street lighting within the project limits requiring relocation. The Village also requested that a segment of Arlington Heights Road under the Village’s jurisdiction be resurfaced as part of the project.
• The Village will reimburse the County for its share of the engineering and construction costs associated with these improvements, estimated to be $1,054,000.
• The agreement was approved by the Village on March 20, 2023.
• This improvement is included in the Transportation Improvement Program, with construction anticipated to begin in 2024, and designated as Section 17-00193-08-PV.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Arlington Heights Road from Illinois Route 83 to Lake-Cook Road, County Highway 79, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Arlington Heights Road, from Illinois Route 83 to 500 feet south of Thompson Boulevard, is under the jurisdiction of the Village of Buffalo Grove (Village); and
WHEREAS, to ensure the free flow of traffic and the safety and welfare of the traveling public, Lake County and the Village believe it would be beneficial to make improvements to Arlington Heights Road; and
WHEREAS, the Village owns street lighting within the project limits requiring relocation; and
WHEREAS, the Village requested that the segment of Arlington Heights Road under its jurisdiction be resurfaced as part of the project; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the Village are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for the Village’s participation in this project, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and the Village of Buffalo Grove stating the terms and conditions for the Village’s participation in the Arlington Heights Road improvement project, and designated as Section 17-00193-08-PV.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
