R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Old McHenry Road, County Highway 32, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Old McHenry Road at Illinois Route 12 could be reconstructed; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
WHEREAS, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Rosemont, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II design engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Rosemont, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement and any amendments, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Rosemont, Illinois, a draft copy of said agreement attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $200,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds, and designated as Section 17-00085-10-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
