Resolution authorizing the execution of a two (2) year contract with three (3) additional one (1) year renewal options with AT & T, Chicago, IL, for Network Communications Services in an amount not-to-exceed $319,743.12 ($159,871.56 per year).

Staff Summary

•                     Lake County desires to enter into a contract for Network Communications Services.

•                     Lake County extended requests to thirty-two (32) potential vendors and four (4) proposals were received.

•                     The Information Technology Department evaluated all proposals.

•                     AT & T is recommended as the firm that best meets the needs of the County based on RFP evaluation criteria.

•                     This contract will cost the County an amount not-to-exceed $319,743.12 ($159,871.56 per year) and will be charged to 101-1300020-71960.

•                     This represents a 6% decrease from the FY09 appropriation.

 

Body

                     WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, proposals were called for by publication for Network Communications Services for various Lake County facilities; and

 

                     WHEREAS, these services include T-1 and T-3 service connections for Lake County; and

 

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, Request for Proposals were extended to thirty-two (32) vendors; and

 

                     WHEREAS, sealed proposals were received from four (4) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois, on August 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.; and

 

                     WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposals, the Information Technology Department evaluated all proposals and determined that the proposal submitted by AT & T, Chicago, IL is the most favorable proposal for Lake County.

 

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent to enter into a two (2) year contract with three (3) additional one (1) year renewal options with AT & T, Chicago, IL, for Network Communications Services in an amount not-to-exceed $319,743.12 ($159,871.56 per year)  and charging the costs thereof to account 101-1300020-71960.
