Joint committee action authorizing Contract Modification Number Two for Agreement #20022 with Donohue and Associates, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, to provide final design, bidding and construction engineering services for the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Phase III project.

 

Staff Summary

                     Engineering Service for the SCADA Phase III project is under contract with Donohue and Associates, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, in the amount of $69,680 under Professional Services Agreement #20022 effective July 14, 2020. Under its initial terms, Agreement #20022 anticipated engineering services for the project to be provided in three parts, with the agreement authorizing the initial preliminary engineering stage.

                     Contractor Modification Number One, in the amount of $82,595, was approved on October 13, 2020 to provide the second stage of engineering services for the project including some final design engineering.

                     Contract Modification Number Two is required to provide the third and final stage of engineering for the project covering additional final design, bidding and construction services engineering for the SCADA Phase III project.

                     Contract Modification Number Two increases the amount of the Engineering Services contract by $176,600, from $152,275 to $328,875.

                     In accordance with Section 33.082 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to enter into Contract Modification Number Two.

RE: Committee action approving Contract Modification Number Two to Agreement #20022 with Donohue & Associates, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois for the SCADA Phase III Project

 

1.                     On July 14, 2020, Agreement #20022 in the amount of $69,680 was entered into with Donohue & Associates, Inc. for the first stage of engineering services for the SCADA Phase III Project.

 

2.                     Under its initial terms, Agreement #20022 anticipated engineering services for the project to be provided in three parts, with the agreement authorizing the initial stage of engineering.

 

3.                     Contractor Modification Number One, in the amount of $82,595, was approved on October 13, 2020 to provide the second stage of engineering services for the project including some final design engineering.

 

4.                     Contract Modification Number Two is required to provide the third and final stage of engineering for the project covering additional final design, bidding and construction engineering services for the SCADA Phase III project.

 

5.                     Contract Modification Number Two increases the amount of the Engineering Services contract by $176,600, from $152,275 to $328,875.

 

6.                     In accordance with Section 33.082 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, when the total of change orders, contract modifications, or price adjustments on any contract approved by resolution by the County Board exceeds 10 percent of the original contract amount, approval of the standing committee in charge of the contracting department or agency and the Financial and Administrative Committee is required.

 

7.                     This committee action authorizes and directs the Purchasing Agent to execute Contract Modification Number Two with Donohue & Associates, Inc., increasing the contract value by $176,600 from $152,275 to $328,875.
