R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Midlothian Road, County Highway 48, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Midlothian Road, IL Rte. 176 to Peterson Road, is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the county as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public to construct the 3 missing links of the Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road between IL Rte. 176 and Peterson Road; and
WHEREAS, Phase III construction engineering services are required to utilize federal highway funds for the above-proposed improvement; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of an agreement to utilize federal highway funds for the above proposed construction and Phase III construction engineering services setting forth the terms and obligations to each agency, a draft of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute an agreement, and any subsequent amendments required by IDOT thereto, pertaining to the financing of the above-named improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk, and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is appropriated $165,000 of Matching Tax funds and designated as Section 09-00171-13-BT.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement, and any amendments, when executed in their final form be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
