· Microsurfacing is a new pavement preservation initiative.
· Wadsworth Road, from the eastern approach of the I-94 Bridge to the western approach of the Des Plaines River Bridge, and Kilbourne Road, from Wadsworth Road to Illinois Route 173, have been selected for this new pavement preservation initiative.
· Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $455,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wadsworth Road (County Highway 17), and Kilbourne Road (County Highway 37), are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Wadsworth Road, from the eastern approach of the I-94 Bridge to the western approach of the Des Plaines River Bridge, and Kilbourne Road, from Wadsworth Road to Illinois Route 173, could be microsurfaced; and
WHEREAS, this project will consist of crack sealing prior to applying the microsurfacing, applying a microsurfacing emulsion, and applying new pavement markings after the microsurfacing; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and
WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $455,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the 2012 and 2013 microsurfacing of Wadsworth Road, from the eastern approach of the I-94 Bridge to the western approach of the Des Plaines River Bridge, and Kilbourne Road, from Wadsworth Road to Illinois 173 and designated as Section 13-00999-43-SC.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
