This resolution also appropriates $70,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for this improvement and is designated as Section 10-00999-10-TL.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) owns certain traffic control signals along Sheridan Road/Genesee Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Belvidere Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of North Chicago has secured CMAQ grant funding for the
upgrade and interconnection of the IDOT traffic control signals along Sheridan Road from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to 10th Street; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, the City of Waukegan and the City of North Chicago have secured additional CMAQ grant funding for the upgrade and interconnection of the IDOT traffic control signals along Sheridan Road/Genesee Street from 10th Street to Belvidere Road, to be made a part of said pervious City of North Chicago led project, and
WHEREAS, all of the IDOT traffic signals along Sheridan Road/Genesee Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Belvidere Road will become a part of the Lake County PASSAGE and connected to the Lake County Division of Transportation’s Transportation Management Center in Libertyville; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the City of North Chicago are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for the County to provide a portion of the local match for the improvement of certain IDOT traffic control signals along Sheridan Road/Genesee Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Belvidere Road, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement, and any subsequent amendments thereto, between Lake County and the City of North Chicago stating the terms and conditions for the County to provide a portion of the local match for the improvement of certain IDOT traffic control signals along Sheridan Road/Genesee Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Belvidere Road and designated as Section 10-00999-10-TL. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $70,000 of Motor Fuel Tax Funds for this improvement and designated as Section 10-00999-10-TL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
