Resolution endorsing submittal of a Water Quality Management Plan Amendment associated with the Mill Creek Water Reclamation Facility Improvement Project to the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP).

 

Staff Summary

                     The County owns and operates the Mill Creek Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) which serves the Northeast Lake Facilities Planning Area providing sanitary sewer service to portions of Antioch, Old Mill Creek, and the Grandwood Park area.

                     The Mill Creek WRF must be expanded from 1.0 MGD to 2.1 MGD to meet current and future regulatory requirements and to provide treatment capacity to meet service area commitments.

                     The expansion and improvements to the WRF necessitate submittal of a Water Quality Management Plan Amendment per the requirements of CMAP.

                     This resolution endorses the submittal of the Water Quality Management Plan Amendment associated with the Mill Creek WRF Improvement Project.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains the Mill Creek Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) which serves the Northeast Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Mill Creek WRF must be expanded and improved to meet current and future regulatory requirements, and to provide treatment capacity to meet service area commitments within the facilities planning area ; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the expansion and improvements to the Mill Creek WRF necessitate a Water Quality Management Plan Amendment per the requirements of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP); and

                                         

                     WHEREAS, endorsement of the Water Quality Management Plan Amendment must be authorized by Resolution of the County Board.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board hereby endorses the submittal of the Water Quality Management Plan Amendment associated with the Mill Creek WRF Improvement Project.
