RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting on June 14, 2016, authorized the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer to apply for a grant from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), to provide for the Ride Lake County West and Central paratransit programs in cooperation with Pace; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, on January 10, 2017, was notified by the RTA that it was approved to receive $441,063 of federal Section 5310 grant funds to provide funding for said Ride Lake County West and Central services; and
WHEREAS, on May 1, 2022, the Ride Lake County West and Ride Lake County Central services were combined into the Ride Lake County service to implement a borderless paratransit system service in Lake County to meet the needs of the mobility challenged constituent population; and
WHEREAS, the RTA has agreed that said previously awarded funds for the Ride Lake County West and Central Services can be applied to the new countywide Ride Lake County service; and
WHEREAS, the RTA and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions by which the RTA will provide these grant funds to Lake County, in support of the Ride Lake County countywide paratransit services, a draft copy attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair, County Engineer, and the State’s Attorney of Lake County be authorized, and they are hereby directed to execute an agreement, and any subsequent amendments, for the receipt of these Section 5310 grant funds from the RTA to be used to provide paratransit service in Lake County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments to the Lake County Clerk, as executed by the County Board Chair, County Engineer, and State’s Attorney of Lake County.
