WHEREAS, Lake County by prior resolution at its meeting of March 11, 2008 entered into an engineering agreement with Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois, for the provision of Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering) for the proposed roundabout improvements to Hunt Club Road (County Highway 29) at Millburn Road (County Highway 14) and at Wadsworth Road (County Highway 17) and designated as Section 02-00076-13-CH.
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County Illinois by prior resolution at its meeting of March 11, 2008 appropriated $320,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services; and
WHEREAS, additional Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering) are required to expand the scope of services associated with determining the lighting requirements, the final geometry of the roundabouts and associated right-of-way needs; and
WHEREAS, these additional engineering services were not foreseen or included in the scope of service of the original engineering agreement between Lake County and Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois, are desirous of entering into a supplement to said agreement for engineering services, a draft copy of said supplement attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that said agreement between Lake County and Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois, be supplemented to include the above-said additional Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering) and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, a supplement to said agreement for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final supplement to the agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this supplemented agreement, when executed in its final form be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $38,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 02-00076-13-CH.
