RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, said traffic enforcement campaigns held in FY2017 - 2018 have led to a total of 1,168 citations being issued, a reduction of fatal accidents in Lake County in 2017 compared to 2016; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office believes that continuing to conduct these traffic enforcement campaigns in FY2018 will continue to keep the roadways safe; and,
WHEREAS, said grants will fund the overtime costs associated with conducting these traffic enforcement campaigns; and,
WHERAS, the Law and Judicial Committee approved submitting the grant application for SAIN 343-5727 at their January 9, 2018 meeting (Agenda Item # 18-0013); and,
WHERAS, the Financial and Administrative Committee approved the submitting the grant application for SAIN 343-5727 at their January 10, 2018 meeting (Agenda Item #18-0013.)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Lake County Sheriff’s Office accept Funding Opportunity FFY18 Highway Safety Program Grant (SAIN 343-5727) and the emergency appropriation of the grant amount of $8,636.40 for Fiscal Year 2018.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $8,636.40 is hereby authorized as follows:
Revenue
Deposited into account #101- 3001110-45020 (All Other Salary Reimbursement)
Expenditure
Paid out of 101-3002110-51140 (Highway Overtime Salary and Wages)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Sheriff’s Office shall be the grant manager for the FFY18 Highway Safety Program Grant, and accurate records of all necessary grant compliance requirements shall be kept by the Sheriff’s Office.
