                     Paratransit Transportation Plan:  Consultant Agreement and Appropriation

                     This is a professional services agreement for the review of alternate organizational and funding structures to deliver transportation services to meet the needs of seniors and persons with disabilities or medical needs and to develop a countywide Paratransit Transportation Plan.

                     This resolution authorizes the execution of a professional services agreement with TranSystems Corporation, Chicago, Illinois for consultant services and appropriates $115,000 of the ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, by prior resolution at its meeting of November 14, 2006, adopted a resolution in support of the Lake County Coordinated Transportation Services Committee (LCCTSC) goal to develop a borderless paratransit system service in Lake County to meet the needs of seniors and persons with disabilities or medical needs; and

 

WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, now desires to develop a comprehensive Paratransit Transportation Plan to meet the needs of seniors and persons with disabilities or medical needs; and

 

 

WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant firm be employed to provide professional services to undertake the development of said Paratransit Transportation Plan; and 

 

WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its purchasing agent and in conjunction with the Division of Transportation has selected a professional services firm in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance; and

 

WHEREAS, TranSystems Corporation, Chicago, Illinois, are consultants skilled with the professional expertise and credentials to provide the services necessary to develop said Paratransit Transportation Plan. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that TranSystems Corporation, Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide said professional services for the development and implementation of a Paratransit Transportation Plan for Lake County and that the purchasing agent is authorized and is directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for consultant services between Lake County and TranSystems Corporation, Chicago, Illinois.  The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the purchasing agent.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $115,000 of the ¼% sales tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for these professional services designated as Section 08-00280-00-ES. 

 

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable to the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.
