RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Wilson Road, County Highway 7, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, to ensure the free flow of traffic and the safety and welfare of the traveling public, Lake County and the Village of Round Lake (Village) believe it would be beneficial to make non-motorized travel improvements to Wilson Road and Nippersink Road; and
WHEREAS, the Village was awarded Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program funds to install a shared-use path along Wilson Road, from Nippersink Road to Prairie Trail, and Nippersink Road, from Wilson Road to Valley Lakes Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, Wilson Road was identified as a priority path location in Lake County’s 2040 Non-Motorized Plan; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the Village are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for Lake County’s participation in the Wilson Road portion of this project, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and the Village of Round Lake stating the terms and conditions for Lake County’s participation in the Wilson Road non-motorized travel improvement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $100,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds these non-motorized improvements and designated as 25-00070-13-BT.
