• Lake County appropriated $1,000,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds on February 8, 2022, to cover the County’s share of the costs.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board, at its meeting on February 8, 2022, adopted a resolution to establish Ride Lake County as a borderless countywide paratransit service for seniors and individuals with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the County has an intergovernmental agreement with Pace that was set to expire on December 30, 2022, and has been extended through April 30, 2023 or until such time the 2023 agreement is approved; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and Pace are desirous of entering into a new agreement to continue the coordination of all operations of the Ride Lake County service for 2023; and
WHEREAS, Ride Lake County will be funded with a combination of Pace, County and federal funds; and
WHEREAS, the agreement calls for Pace to provide a subsidy amount of up to $888,988 and limits Lake County’s total contribution amount to $1,000,000 for the Ride Lake County service, draft copies of said agreement is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, by prior resolution at its meeting of February 8, 2022, appropriated $1,000,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the Ride Lake County countywide paratransit service, and designated as Section 22-00280-09-ES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that the County Engineer of Lake County is authorized and directed to execute the agreement, and any subsequent amendments, between Lake County and Pace Suburban Bus Division of the Regional Transportation Authority pertaining to the Ride Lake County countywide paratransit service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreements and any subsequent amendments to the County Clerk.
