R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Lake County Board and the Libertyville Township Road District Highway Commissioner, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for Hot-Mix Surface removal, patching, and constructing ¾" Hot-Mix Asphalt leveling binder and 1 ½" Hot-Mix Asphalt surface course lifts on various roads in the Libertyville Township Road District, and designated as Section 14-10101-02-GM; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on April 15, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois, a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Peter Baker & Son Co., Lake Bluff, Illinois, their bid being $333,200.30, based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that a contract be awarded to said Peter Baker & Son Co., Lake Bluff, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $333,200.30, based on estimated quantities and unit prices, and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder for Hot-Mix Surface removal, patching, and constructing ¾" Hot-Mix Asphalt Leveling Binder and 1 ½" Hot-Mix Asphalt Surface Course Lifts on various roads in the Libertyville Township Road District, and designated as Section 14-10101-02-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 and Section 6-701.1 without further Board action.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this award be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013, and subject to the approval of the Libertyville Township Road District Highway Commissioner.
