Joint resolution authorizing a contract with CDW-G of Vernon Hills, Illinois for the purchase of 36 ViVue PVR-LE2 body cameras for the Lake County Sheriff's Adult Correctional Division in the amount of $31,588.20.
Staff Summary
· Lake County's Sheriff's Office requested the purchase of 36 body cameras.
· Body cameras will enable jail officers to record hands-free video and audio of important or critical incidents from the perspective of the wearer.
· The Adult Correctional Division staff tested and evaluated five different body worn cameras and the ViVue PVR-LE2 camera was found to be the most durable camera, easiest to operate, and the only camera where the video could not be altered and could be retained forever.
· Purchasing identified a cooperative purchasing contract with CDW-G through the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance to procure the cameras at a contract price that was competitively solicited and awarded.
· Pursuant to the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for the procurement of goods.
· This contract authorizes a purchase of 36 body cameras in the amount of $31,588.20.
Body
WHEREAS, a request has been made to purchase 36 ViVue PVR-LE2 body cameras for the Lake County Sheriff's Adult Correctional Division; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, a cooperative purchasing contract with National IPA has been identified for the purchase; and
WHEREAS, the contract with CDW-G was competitively solicited, awarded and available for cooperative purchasing through National IPA; and
WHEREAS, Lake County is a current member of National IPA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with CDW-G., for the purchase of 36 ViVue PVR-LE2 body cameras for the Lake County Sheriff's Adult Correctional Division in the amount of $31,588.20, charged to account 101-1102050-84020-000-000-000-11030.
