R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Aptakisic Road, County Highway 33, is a designated route on the County Highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Aptakisic Road, from Illinois Route 83 to Buffalo Grove Road, could be improved by widening and reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide Phase I preliminary engineering services for said proposed widening and reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
WHEREAS, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd, Rosement, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase I preliminary engineering services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this Lake County Board, that Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd, Rosement, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase I preliminary engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the Acting County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement, a draft copy of said agreement attached hereto, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd, Rosement, Illinois and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acting County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $1,230,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for these engineering services designated as Section 09-00088-18-WR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
