WHEREAS, there is a need to contract with a single vendor for the installation of voice and data low voltage cabling for the remodeling of floors 6-9 in the administrative tower in Waukegan, IL, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the installation of voice and data low voltage cabling for the remodeling of floors 6-9 and in other Lake County Facilities as needed; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, an Invitation to Bid was extended to 32 vendors with responses from four firms; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received for the administrative tower project with responses ranging from $120,000 to $146,799; and
WHEREAS, Suburban Communications, Inc., Palatine, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who best meets the needs of the County for the installation of voice and data low voltage cabling for the remodeling of the floors 6-9 in the administrative tower in Waukegan, IL in the contracted amount of $120,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with Suburban Communications, Inc. of Palatine, IL for the installation of voice and data low voltage cabling for the remodeling of floors 6-9 in the amount of $120,000 charging to account #101-1103340-82020.
