Joint resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) for renewed contractual police services between the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and the Village of Deer Park (Deer Park) from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026, in the amount of $4,374,889.53.

• The contract includes a continuation of current services, which includes three, eight and a half hour shifts per day for the residential areas (24 hours a day seven days a week coverage) and one, eight-and a half hour shift per day, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for commercial areas (totaling 34 hours per day or 12,410 hours per year.
• The County Administrator, the State’s Attorney’s Office, County Finance and the Lake County Risk Department have reviewed this renewal contract.
• Deer Park will reimburse the cost of the four ( contract deputy positions for all three years.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Village of Deer Park has requested that the Sheriff continue to provide police services to the said Village; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff has negotiated an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village relative to providing said services for an additional three-year period from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Deer Park has requested the continuation of police services for three 8.5 hours shifts per day for the residential areas; and one 8.5 hour shifts per day, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the commercial area, for a total of 34 hours per day or 12,410 hours per year; and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator, the State’s Attorney’s Office, County Finance and the Lake County Risk Department have reviewed this renewal contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Deer Park for the purpose of continuing to provide police services in the Village, effective January 1, 2024; revenue shall be received in account #101-3001110-45380 Revenue from Municipalities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Village of Deer Park and the Lake County Sheriff.
