R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Peterson Road, County Highway 20, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic at the intersection of Peterson Road and IL Route 60 is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the county as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Peterson Road and IL Route 60 could be relocated; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement to utilize state highway funds for a portion of the cost of the improvement of the relocation of Peterson Road at IL Rte 60, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation, IDOT, will reimburse the County up to a maximum of $2,500,000 for right-of-way and construction costs associated with the IL Rte 60 portion of the improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute an agreement pertaining to the relocation of Peterson Road at IL Rte 60, with a maximum reimbursement of $2,500,000 for the cost of right-of-way and construction cost and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement when executed in its final form be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action.
