Body

                     WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, IL bids were called for by publication to Construct an Asphalt Parking Lot for 77 Parking Stalls at the Mundelein Branch Court; and

                     WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to eighteen (18) vendors; and

                     WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from five (5) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and

WHEREAS, DK Contractors, Inc., Pleasant Prairie, WI, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the estimated amount of $264,716.00; other bids were received from Hardin Paving Co., Wheeling, IL, $270,069.00, Curran Contracting Co., Crystal Lake, IL $289,938.87, Lenny Hoffman Excavating Inc., Wilmette, IL $315,264.00.00 and Maneval Construction Co., Grayslake, IL  $399,000.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, authorizing the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with DK Contractors, Inc, Pleasant Prairie, WI to Construct an Asphalt Parking Lot at the Mundelein Branch Court in the total amount estimated not to exceed $264,716.00 charging to account #101-1103090-81015-000-000-000-00000 and requests its adoption.
