WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for Juvenile Depke Center HVAC Roof Top Unit Replacements in Vernon Hills, IL; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, an Invitation to Bid was extended to 21 vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from four local vendors and five non-local vendors and opened at the Central Permit Facility, Libertyville, Illinois, on September 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the HVAC roof top units at the Juvenile Depke Facility are beyond their useful life; and
WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Invitation to Bid; the staff evaluated the bid submittals and determined that the bid submitted by Mechanical Concepts of Illinois, Inc., Romeoville, IL in the amount of $93,000, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder that best meets the needs of the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with Mechanical Concepts of Illinois, Inc., Romeoville, IL for the Juvenile Depke Center HVAC Roof Top Unit Replacements in Vernon Hills, IL in the amount of $93,000, charging to account # 101-1103285-82020-000-000-000-11158.
