Resolution accepting the FY27 Illinois Voter Registration Systems Grant (IVRS) and authorizing an emergency appropriation in the amount of $637,738 for the specific purpose of assisting in the maintenance and other costs associated with the County’s voter registration system to facilitate communication with the Centralized Statewide Voter Registration System as required by Title III Section 303 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002, and with other election security related expenses.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Clerk’s Office has received a grant from the Illinois State Board of Elections for costs associated with its voter registration system; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds will be used to facilitate communication with the Centralized Statewide Voter Registration System as required by Title III Section 303 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 and other election security related expenses; and
WHEREAS, this grant amount of $637,738 in funding has not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the FY 2027 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $637,738 is hereby authorized in the County Clerk’s budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof.
