Staff Summary
· Quentin Road Resurfacing, Illinois Route 22 to Old McHenry Road: Appropriation.
· Quentin Road is in need of resurfacing.
· These resurfacing improvements have been identified within the County's pavement management system, and are included in the 2012 program.
· In addition, a guardrail will be replaced and the stabilization of an embankment will be completed.
· Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $2,110,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Quentin Road, County Highway 5, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Quentin Road, from Illinois Route 22 to Old McHenry Road, could be resurfaced; and
WHEREAS, the project will include the replacement of a guardrail and the stabilization of an embankment; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and
WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $2,110,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the resurfacing Quentin Road, including the replacement of a guardrail and the stabilization of an embankment, and designated as Section 10-00090-14-RS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
