Staff Summary

                     2011 Patrol I; Traffic Signal Maintenance:  Appropriation.

                     Patrol I are those maintenance activities paid out of the Motor Fuel Tax fund including the maintenance of the county traffic control signals and equipment.

                     The County’s existing traffic signal maintenance contract with Meade Electric

Company, McCook, Illinois will be extended for another year to cover the time period December 1, 2010 to November 30, 2011

                     Prior to the formal extension being granted, an appropriation of $1,100,000 is required.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation maintains 150 traffic control signal installations with interconnect; and

 

WHEREAS, this Lake County Board at its meeting of September 16,2009 awarded a contract to  Meade Electric Company, McCook, Illinois for the maintenance of traffic signals for the time period December 1, 2009 thru November 31, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, said contract contains a clause providing for the extension of said contract to terminate on November 31, 2011, and

 

WHEREAS, in order to consummate said contract extension an appropriation of funds is required for the 2011 fiscal year.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County that there is hereby appropriated $1,100,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for fiscal year 2011 contract maintenance services needed to maintain the traffic control signal installations with interconnect and designated as Section 11-00000-01-GM.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
