·      The funding will be used to provide additional supervised visitations, reduce the number of families that are wait-listed, and increase bilingual services at the Family Visitation Center of Lake County operated by A Safe Place.

Body
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit received a $395,984 grant from the Office on Violence Against Women in 2008 to establish a Family Visitation and Exchange Center in Lake County to meet the needs of local families impacted by domestic violence; and
      
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit partnered with A Safe Place to develop and establish the Family Visitation Center of Lake County; and
 
WHEREAS, the 2008 grant was set to expire on September 30, 2012; and
 
WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit applied to the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women for supplemental funding under the Safe Havens: Supervised Visitation  and Safe Exchange Grant Program to strengthen and enhance the services provided by the Family Visitation Center of Lake County; and
 
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit has received $226,173 in supplemental funding for the period ending September 30, 2015 to provide additional supervised visitations, reduce the number of families that are wait-listed, and increase bilingual services; and
      
WHEREAS, it is necessary to appropriate the $226,173 in new funding and authorize the necessary approvals to formally accept this grant.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that it hereby authorizes an emergency appropriation of $226,173 per the attached chart of accounts with offsetting revenue deposited in account 101-3280010-45340-000-000-000-32013; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the County Board Chairman is authorized to accept the supplemental revisions to Grant Award # 2008-CW-AX-K012 with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women for the period ending September 30, 2015 for the Family Visitation Center of Lake County.
