Lake County Health Department Emergency Appropriation in the amount of $729,319, as a result of new and increased revenue.
Staff Summary
• The Health Department has been awarded one new grant and has also received increased revenues from Administration, Community Health, Environmental Health and Primary Care Service Areas.
• These funds were not previously appropriated because they were awarded after the FY2008 budget’s adoption. The majority of these funds are a result of providing additional services in Community Health and Primary Care Services.
• The new grants and additional revenue for the Health Department totals $729,319 and a complete list of these fund’s sources is included in the resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has been awarded one new grant, grant increases, and other revenue increases delivered by our Administration, Community Health, Environmental Health, and Primary Care Service Areas; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide a legitimate increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and
WHEREAS, these grant and additional funds totaling $729,319 have not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2008 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, by this Lake County Board that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $729,319 is hereby authorized in the Health Department budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the revenue budgets as identified on the attached listing be modified as provided by increased funding from the following: Friends for Health Foundation, North Shore Health Center Grant increase for $34,200; Department of Health and Human Services, Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking Act Grant $2,377; Primary Care Patient Fee Revenue Increase $77,054; FQHC Medicaid Medical and Dental Additional Revenue from increased visits $285,640; Rabies Control Revenue from increase in fees $167,000; IL. Department of Public Health, Local Health Protection Grant Increase $29,048; IL. Health and Family Services, Family Case Management Medicaid Match increase $134,000.
