· Phase II, Design Engineering, is required on all federally funded improvements and this agreement allows for the County to receive 80% reimbursement for the cost of phase II.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Arlington Heights Road, County Highway 79, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Division of Transportation has had underway, through the Illinois Department of Transportation, IDOT, federal project approval process, the Phase I engineering study for proposed replacement of the deck beams on the southbound bridge carrying Arlington Heights Road over Buffalo Creek, designated as Section 10-00193-07-BR; and
WHEREAS, IDOT has allocated Lake County federal Highway Bridge Replacement funds, HBR, for the proposed replacement of precast concrete deck beams of the bridge carrying southbound Arlington Heights Road over Buffalo Creek; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous on entering into an agreement for the use of said federal highway funds for this improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute an agreement and any subsequent amendments hereto, pertaining to the financing of the above-named improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
