R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Stearns School Road (County Highway 74) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, by prior resolution this County Board of Lake County Illinois authorized a construction contract in the original amount of $309,905 for the repair and resurfacing of the deck of the bridge carrying Stearns School Road over I-94; and
WHEREAS, upon the removal of the surface of the bridge deck it was discovered that a large percentage of the bridge deck area was significantly deteriorated to a depth greater than originally specified requiring extensive additional work; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting on June 16, 2009 appropriated $325,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for this resurfacing; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois at its meeting on October 13, 2009 appropriated a supplemental $100,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for this resurfacing; and
WHEREAS, another supplemental appropriation of funds is deemed necessary in order to complete above-said repairs prior to the onset of winter.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY that there is hereby appropriated a supplemental amount of $200,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for the repair and resurfacing of the bridge deck of Stearns School Road over I-94 and designated as Section 07-00236-02-BR.
