R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Riverwoods Road (County Highway 58) and Everett Road (County Highway 52) are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Riverwoods Road at Everett Road could be improved by reconstruction and reconfiguration for a roundabout; and
WHEREAS, Phase II (Design Engineering) studies are required for the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Riverwoods Road and Everett Road; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois at its meeting of November 18, 2008 authorized the execution of a Phase II (Design Engineering) agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc., Chicago, Illinois for said Phase II engineering services and appropriated $180,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for these engineering services; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional engineering services are being requested by IDOT, for several revisions to the original scope of work as depicted in Change Order No. 2 attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, IDOT, as administrator of the Federal Highway funds for this improvement, desires a supplemental agreement with the consultant, a draft copy of which is attached hereto
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute a supplemental agreement and any subsequent amendments thereto, for consulting engineering services between Lake County and HDR Engineering, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, for the provision of additional Phase II design engineering services for the proposed roundabout at Riverwoods Road and Everett Road at a supplemental cost of services described of $16,148.01 and designated as Section 04-00136-06-CH. The County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final supplemental agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this supplemental agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this supplemental agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
