R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation has secured federal CMAQ funds for improvements to the traffic control signals along Washington Street from Sheridan Road in the City of Waukegan to Teske Boulevard in the City of Park City; and
WHEREAS, the above-said traffic control signals are being improved and integrated into a traffic signal system as part of Lake County PASSAGE and designated as Section 04-00272-00-TL; and
WHEREAS, one of the uses of the federal CMAQ funds is to provide a Transit Signal Priority (TSP) system which will allow PACE bus operators to hold and extend green times along said traffic signal system to facilitate the deliver of bus service in the Washington Street corridor; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and PACE are desirous of entering into and agreement for the implementation of said TSP system, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, be authorized and they are hereby directed to execute an agreement between Lake County and PACE stating the terms and conditions for the implementation of the above-said TSP system within the traffic signal system situated along Washington Street from Sheridan Road to Teske Boulevard and designated as Section 04-00272-00-TL. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
