Joint resolution authorizing the execution of a contract with McClure Engineering Associates Inc., Waukegan, Illinois for professional services for the provision of Phase I preliminary engineering services for three missing links in the Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road between IL Rte. 176 and Peterson Road at a maximum cost of services described of $73,787.97; and appropriates $90,000 of Matching Tax funds for this improvement and designated as Section 09-00171-13-BT.

• This resolution authorizes the execution of professional services agreement with McClure Engineering Associates Inc., Waukegan, Illinois for Phase I (Preliminary Engineering) services and appropriates $90,000 of Matching Tax funds.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Midlothian Road (County Highway 48) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, there presently exists 3 sections of the Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road between IL Rte. 176 and Peterson Road; and
WHEREAS, these 3 sections of the Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road are presently not connected; and
WHEREAS, these 3 previously constructed segments are as follows:
1. between Hawley Street and IL Rte. 176
2. between the Fremont Township Library and Sheffield Avenue
3. along the north and south approaches and at the intersection of Midlothian Road and Winchester Road.
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation now desires to construct the 3 missing links of said Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road between IL Rte. 176 and Peterson Road; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional services for said 3 missing links of said Prairie Crossing Bike Path; and
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation has selected a professional engineering services firm, McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for the 3 missing links of said Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois, be employed to provide professional services for the 3 missing links of Prairie Crossing Bike Path along Midlothian Road and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, a contract for the provision of said professional engineering services between Lake County and McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $90,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 09-00171-13-BT.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.
