R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Washington Street (County Highway 45) from Hainesville Road (County Highway 24) to Lake Street is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Washington Street between Hainesville Road and Lake Street; including at its crossing with the Canadian National Railroad could be improved to provide increased traffic capacities (Washington Street Thoroughfare Improvement); and
WHEREAS, Phase I (Preliminary Engineering) studies are required for the proposed Washington Street Thoroughfare Improvement; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering); and
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
WHEREAS, Patrick Engineering Inc., Lisle, Illinois are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Patrick Engineering Inc., Lisle, Illinois be employed to provide said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering), and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Patrick Engineering Inc., Lisle, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is herby appropriated $2,150,000 of Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for these engineering services designated as Section 08-00121-08-BR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.
