R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, O'Plaine Road, County Highway 38, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois proposes to improve the intersection of O'Plaine Road and IL Rte. 137, by modernization of the existing traffic control signals and turn lane widening the roadway; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois will utilize federal highway funding for this improvement; and
WHEREAS, the county portion of said improvement is for the local share of one leg of this intersection; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous on entering into an agreement for said improvement; a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for the improvement at the intersection of O'Plaine Road and IL Rte. 137 and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $25,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 11-00109-07-TL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
