Body

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for Resurface the Asphalt Parking Lot at the Communications Center in Libertyville; and

WHEREAS, invitations for bids were extended to eighteen (18) vendors; and

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from seven (7) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and

    WHEREAS, Maneval Construction, Grayslake, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for Resurface of the Asphalt Parking Lot in the amount of $199,000.00 and other bids were received from: Chicagoland Paving, Grayslake, IL - $209,000.00; Payne & Dolan, Inc., Antioch, IL - $212,789,.00; Greg Greenhill Construction Co., Inc., Ringwood, IL - $214, 611.95; Superior Paving, Fox Lake, IL - $250,27100; American Asphalt Co., Lemont, IL - $281,286.00; Peter Baker & Son Co., Lake Bluff, IL - $341,000.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County,

Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby directed to enter into a contract with Maneval Construction, of Grayslake, IL in the amount of $199,000.00, for Resurface of Asphalt Parking Lot at the Communications Center in Libertyville, charging account 101-1103285-82020-041-000-11165 and requests its adoption.
