· The cast-in-place concrete work in this bid generally includes concrete foundation walls, concrete floor slabs, structural concrete floors, walls and ceilings in the Tunnel and all floors in the Court Tower.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for cast-in-place concrete work for Lake County Courthouse Expansion Project; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from two vendors and opened at the Lake County Administrative Building, Waukegan, Illinois, on December 19, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Invitation to Bid; the staff evaluated all bid submittals and determined that the bid submitted by concrete structures of the Midwest, Inc. in the amount of $7,833,255 with unit prices is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for Lake County; and
WHEREAS, on April 9, 2013, the Lake County Board authorized a contract for Construction Manager at Risk Services with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the Lake County Courthouse Expansion Project with Clark Construction Group, LLC of Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, on April 14, 2015, the Lake County Board authorized Clark Construction to proceed with the GMP for the construction of the Lake County Courthouse Expansion Project work described as the core and shell work in the amount of $43,289,566 which includes the work to be performed by Concrete Structures of the Midwest, Inc.; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with concrete structures of the Midwest, Inc. and further authorized to assign that contract to Clark Construction Group, LLC of Chicago, Illinois, for work described as cast-in-place concrete work in the amount of $7,833,255 with unit prices.
