Staff Summary
• Through cooperation with all departments and agencies as well as the Standing Committees and Financial and Administrative Committee, the FY 2027 Budget is presented for approval.
• The operating funds that provide the funding for most governmental operations are balanced.
• This budget reflects all budget actions as approved by Standing Committees on October 20-21, 2026, and as finally approved and/or amended by the Financial and Administrative Committee on October 29, 2026.
• The entire budget is available on the County’s website at www.lakecountyil.gov.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, a recommended budget including amendments (as attached) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 has been developed and presented by the County Administrator, all in accordance with the budget policies previously adopted by this County Board; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the County Board to adopt an annual budget and appropriation in accordance with State of Illinois Law; and
WHEREAS, the proposed FY 2027 budget, inclusive of all revenues and expenses, including the Tax Year 2026 Tax Levy to be collected during FY 2027, has been reviewed and acted upon by the Standing Committees of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, the recommended FY 2027 Budget has been made conveniently available for public inspection for at least fifteen days prior to adoption by posting in the Office of the County Clerk and on the County website at www.lakecountyil.gov.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that:
1. The FY 2027 Recommended Annual Budget and Appropriation for Lake County Illinois, for FY 2027 was brought before the Finance and Administrative Committee; and
2. That the FY 2027 recommended Annual Budget and Appropriation for Lake County, Illinois, as attached hereto and made part of, is hereby approved.
