•                     On February 12, 2007 the County Board approved a competitively solicited contract for Insurance Broker Services with Marsh Inc., Chicago, Illinois.

•                     As the Insurance Broker of record for Lake County, Marsh, Inc. assists the County with identifying insurers and soliciting quotes from insurers selected by the County for the placement of County's insurance program.

•                     There is a need to purchase additional medical malpractice insurance coverage for non-physician healthcare providers.

•                     The annual premium cost for the additional medical malpractice insurance coverage is $250,000, charged to account # 206-1440010-72160-000-000-000-00000 and for future insurance coverage needs.

WHEREAS, on February 12, 2007 the County Board approved a competitively solicited contract for Insurance Broker Services with Marsh Inc., Chicago, Illinois ; and

                     WHEREAS, as the Insurance Broker of record for Lake County, Marsh, Inc. assists the County with identifying insurers and soliciting quotes from insurers selected by the County for the placement of County's insurance program; and

                     WHEREAS, there is a need to purchase additional Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage for non-physician healthcare providers; and

                     WHEREAS, the annual premium cost for the additional Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage is $250,000.

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent to purchase additional Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage for non-physician healthcare providers with Marsh Inc., Chicago, Illinois in the amount of $250,000 charged to account #206-1440010-72160-000-000-000-00000 and for future insurance coverage needs; and request its adoption
