RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Quentin Road (County Highway 5) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure the free flow of traffic and the safety and welfare of the motoring public, the County is desirous of widening Quentin Road from Rue Royale to White Pine Road, including the improvement of the county legs of the intersection at US Rte. 12, within Villages of Kildeer and Deer Park; and
WHEREAS, a regional bike path will be included with the right-of-way of Quentin Road; and
WHEREAS, the Villages of Kildeer and Deer Park have indicated their interest in relocating a portion of the regional bike path between White Pine Road and Long Grove Road (County Highway 43) to be an off-road bike path; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the Villages of Kildeer and Deer Park are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for said improvements to Quentin Road and the relocation of a portion of the regional bike path between White Pine Road and Long Grove Road to be an off-road bike path, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement among Lake County and the Villages of Kildeer and Deer Park stating the terms and conditions for the improvements to Quentin Road and the relocation of a portion of the regional bike path between White Pine Road and Long Grove Road to be an off-road bike path. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
