R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ela Road (County Highway 60) and Lewis Avenue (County Highway 27) are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, there is a retaining wall on Ela Road situated 1000 feet south of Cuba Road and a second retaining wall on Lewis Avenue situated ¼ mile north of IL 173; and
WHEREAS, each of these retaining walls are in poor condition and are in need of repairs in order to prevent failure; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional services to determine appropriate repair strategies for said retaining walls; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm, Bloom Companies, LLC, Chicago, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for said repairs to these retaining walls.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Bloom Companies, LLC, Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide professional services for the repairs of said retaining walls along Ela Road and Lewis Avenue and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, a contract for the provision of said engineering services for the repairs of said retaining walls between Lake County and Bloom Companies, LLC, Chicago, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $80,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 11-00000-03-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.
