R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids by publication for bituminous pavement removal and resurfacing and other related items on Old Grand Avenue and Blackhawk Avenue in Grant Township Road District, designated as Section 11-08173-00-GM; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 10:00 A.M., at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois, a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Peter Baker & Son Company, Lake Bluff, Illinois, their bid being $153,253.97 based on estimated quantities and unit prices.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a contract be awarded to said Peter Baker & Son Company, Lake Bluff, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $153,253,97 based on estimated quantities and unit prices, and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of said County be, and they are hereby authorized, to enter into a contract with said low bidder for bituminous pavement removal and resurfacing on and other related items on Old Grand Avenue and Blackhawk Avenue in Grant Township Road District, designated as Section 11-08173-00-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that inasmuch as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these estimated quantities may be added to or deducted from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Section 5-205.4 of the Illinois Highway Code without further Board action, providing the final contract cost does not exceed the project allocation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such award and contract be approved on behalf of the Illinois Department of Transportation by the County Engineer pursuant to the Agreement of Understanding between the County of Lake and the State of Illinois dated January 22, 2003, and subject to the approval of the Grant Township Road District Highway Commissioner.
