Body

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several sanitary sewer systems within the County; and

WHEREAS, these sanitary sewer systems are prone to deterioration and failure due to age and require rehabilitation and repair; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Rules of this County Board, bids were called for by publication for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation 2013 Project; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to twenty-eight (28) contractors; and

WHEREAS, six (6) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., and

WHEREAS, National Power Rodding Corp. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $1,660,023.56; five (5) other bids were received, ranging from $1,699,650.25 to $2,332,310.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with national Power Rodding Corp., Chicago, IL in the amount of $1,660,023.56 for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation 2013 Project and charging the costs thereof to Account Numbers 610-4867498-48310 and 610-4823398-48310.
