R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates well water systems throughout the County including water systems in Grandwood Park, Fox Lake Hills, Pekara and Countryside Lake; and
WHEREAS, the well pumps and casings in the water systems are in need of inspection, maintenance and repair on an on-going basis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for Well Pump Maintenance and Repair Services; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to seventy-two (72) contractors; and
WHEREAS, four (4) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Finance Department on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, Water Well Solutions Illinois Division, LLC is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $51,350.00 annually; two (2) other bids were received, ranging from $71,363.00 to $81,600.00; and one bid was received from Peerless-Midwest, Inc., that was a partial, incomplete bid and was determined to be non-responsive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a two-year contract with Water Well Solutions Illinois Division, LLC, Lake Villa, IL in the amount of $ 51,350.00 annually for Well Pump Maintenance and Repair Services and charging the costs thereof to various accounts.
